CAVENDISH COUNTRY HOUSE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
EASTCOTE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
I was delighted that the cutest of couples, Negar & James, chose me to be their wedding photographer at The Cavendish Country House in Eastcote, Middlesex. What a fun day, a proper party from start to finish.
“We would like mostly natural, capture the moment photos as they are the best” Indeed they are!
When a couple say that, I know we are on the same wavelength. From there on it’s just a matter of going through the timeline of the day together…scheduling the groups shots and finding 30 minutes to take some relaxed couple photographs. The rest of the wedding, couples leave me to capture the emotion, look for the laughs and the grab those fleeting moments.
Originally Negar wasn’t that interested in having bridal prep photos, but changed her mind late on. If you can fit it into the day I would say they are worth having, and probably essential if you plan on having an album. You may want photo’s of the details for instance of the rings, invitations, jewellery, etc and it’s the one time in the day to gather them together. Or you may want photos of your pet rabbit. Cookie, their cookies and cream coloured pet rabbit was hopping about the living room when I turned up. A little different from a puppy but a perfect pet for an Uxbridge flat. Neighbours can’t complain about barking.
The ceremony was held at Hillingdon Register Office and the only hiccup of the day. One of the bridesmaids went to the wrong location and missed the ceremony. Hey, these things happen. I keep meeting people that don’t even know where Uxbridge is, and they are Londoners too. Obviously I live in a happening place!
Once the ceremony was over it was a confetti shot outside the registry office and one group shot where James’ family whipped out masks of his face. I’m not sure where they had been storing them but it made for a good pic and appealed to my Inbetweeners sense of humour.
WOODLAND WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY IN EASTCOTE
Negar and James also came up with the excellent idea of diverting to Ruislip Woods to shoot some relaxed and fun pics of them together. I think when having your ceremony at Hillingdon Registry Office it”s a good idea to make time to look for somewhere a bit more, shall we say, pleasing to the eye for the couple photographs. I would say from the time of the ceremony starting to group shots plus a diversion to another location you should be booking a photographer for 3 hours, 2 hours may be too rushed. The day before the wedding I scouted the Ruislip Woods location and made note of a few fallen trees and benches to use for photo locations.Come the day, Negar and James threw themselves into the photo shoot and just laughed and had fun right from the off. When it comes to the wedding photography, especially the couples photos it’s a collaboration really, and they made it easy for me. It was a case of finding bright spots of sunlight in in a somewhat murky woodland atmosphere. It wasn’t easy but judging by the feedback I think we pulled it off.
NATURAL RELAXED WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY IN EASTCOTE
The Cavendish Country House is hired out on an exclusive basis, so Negar and James had the venue and rose garden grounds all to themselves. No sharing the venue with another couple which is so often the case these days. A beautiful mock Tudor House in a perfect setting for local celebrations and events. It’s location in Eastcote, West London, makes it within easy reach of Central London as well as Uxbridge, Pinner and Ruislip.
After some group shots in the garden, a gorgeous afternoon tea was served followed by some exuberant Persian dancing from Negar’s family. The couples first dance was interrupted by maid of honour Josephine cutting in, all pre-planned of course and very funny, and ended with Negar jumping into Josephine’s arms. After another hour of dance floor shenanigans it was time to pack up the wedding cake and move the party on to an evening function at a local restaurant. A wonderful wedding day with two brilliant families that really was great fun.
