HERONS FARM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
A WEDDING AT HERONS FARM
I was absolutely delighted that Karen & Eddie chose me to be their Herons Farm wedding photographer. Like many couples, especially it seems those from West London, they chose to swap the ‘smoke’, for the charm of the Berkshire countryside. Situated between Pangbourne and Reading in Berkshire, it’s not too far from the city and you get to have a beautiful wedding in gorgeous surroundings.
Such a relaxed wedding, and even the unpredictable British weather decided to play ball and give us the perfect day. The rustic charm of the barn and grounds allows guests to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the day, allowing for plenty of opportunities to catch guests enjoying each others company. Camera in hand, it is a lovely setting in which to capture documentary wedding photography.
The beautiful and traditional tithe barn is surrounded by gardens, courtyards, woods and paddocks, plus stable cottages, in which Karen and her bridesmaids enjoyed getting ready. Eddie and his groomsmen got themselves ready for the day in a local B&B, before enjoying half a shandy in what I was informed was quite a comfortable pub : ) Karen and Eddie are two extremely genuine people who certainly love a laugh as much as they love each other. I have never seen a Groom take to his feet, rip up his speech and throw the pieces up in the air before. The shock on Karens face was priceless!
UNPOSED WEDDINGS
If a memorable country wedding reception is your thing, then you owe it to yourself to check out Herons Farm. Barns have plenty of charm and character, after all some can date back 700 years, and here you enter the Barn through a lovely tree-lined avenue, which effortlessly sweeps into the circular driveway leading up to the charming red-bricked farmhouse. The moment you set foot inside, you’ll be greeted by a concoction of pillars and beams. These work to a picture-perfect effect to highlight the delicate floral installations and fairy lights, setting the mood for an authentic rustic backdrop to your wedding reception.
Hosting your wedding day in the middle of the British countryside is very ‘Four Weddings’. Guests can play garden games, enjoy canapés and drinks outdoors all while taking in the rolling hills of West Berkshire. The Barn at Herons Farm sits on land that’s surrounded by a good 450 acres of woods, meadows and farmland –.making it a very exquisite and unique backdrop for Berkshire wedding photography and an English country wedding.
The Barn easily accommodates up to 100 guests and still maintains an intimate feel for a memorable wedding breakfast. More recent catering facilities allow for a highly customisable wedding menu – there’s even an option to accommodate additional food servers like Hog Roasts for your evening guests.
The newly renovated courtyard which is flanked by mews and stable cottages offers accommodation for up to 30 guests, most of them having their own catering facilities. The two of you can wake up in the morning, breathe in some fresh air, go for a relaxing walk and return to a full English breakfast. Lovely!
Herons Farm is an incredibly popular Berkshire wedding destination because the friendly staff and nifty little personalised touches that can be observed throughout, are reason enough to have your wedding here. The professional and extremely helpful staff never shy away from going the extra mile – always willing to help you book, plan and coordinate the festivities in a smooth and efficient manner.
